Integrated Indigo Wins Agency of the Year at 2026 National Spokespersons Awards

Out of 171 nominations from across the country, Integrated Indigo Limited walked away with the top prize at this year's National Spokespersons Awards. The marketing communications consultancy was named Agency of the Year at the event, which held on Thursday, August 13, at the NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja.

The awards are organised by Image Merchants Promotion Limited, the company behind Economic Confidential and PRNigeria. This year's edition was the biggest since the awards began, and the numbers show why. From the 171 nominations submitted nationwide, 99 entries made it past the first screening. Of those, 42 advanced to the next stage, and the process eventually narrowed down to two finalists in each of the 15 categories, with 30 finalists in total.

Judges assessed entries on a mix of factors, including how much impact each campaign had, how original the ideas were, how far the campaigns reached and how strong the supporting evidence was. That rigorous, multi stage process is part of what has made the awards a benchmark for communications work in Nigeria.

Bolaji Abimbola, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Indigo Limited, said the recognition means a lot to the team. He described it as proof that the work the agency does behind the scenes is being noticed and valued."This recognition means a lot to us because it is a reflection of the work that happens behind the scenes every day," Abimbola said. "The Agency of the Year is not just a title but an acknowledgment of the creativity, dedication and commitment of our people and the trust our clients continue to place in us. We are grateful for this recognition, and we see it as another reason to challenge ourselves to do even better."

Dr Saudat Abdulbaqi, who chaired the Awards Jury, congratulated all the winners and finalists during her remarks at the event. She said the recognition given to this year's honourees reflects how important strategic communication has become in building trust and public confidence, both for organisations and for the professionals who represent them.

Abdulbaqi praised the winners for showing creativity and measurable impact in their work, and encouraged them to keep raising the bar as Nigeria's communications industry continues to grow.

This is not the first time Integrated Indigo has been recognised in this category. The agency has now won Agency of the Year twice, a sign that its work has remained consistent enough to stand out among the country's top communications firms year after year.

For an industry that often works quietly behind big brand campaigns and corporate messaging, awards like this one offer a rare moment where agencies get public credit for their contribution. It also gives a sense of where the bar sits for communications work in Nigeria, since the judging criteria go beyond simply how flashy a campaign looks and instead focus on measurable outcomes and evidence of impact.

The National Spokespersons Awards has grown steadily since it started, and this year's jump to 171 nominations suggests more agencies and professionals are paying attention to it as a marker of credibility in the industry. With categories spanning multiple areas of communications work, the awards give a broad view of who is doing strong work across Nigeria's public relations and marketing communications space.

For Integrated Indigo, the win adds to a growing list of recognitions and puts more pressure on the agency to keep delivering the kind of work that got it here in the first place. Abimbola's comments suggest the agency plans to treat the award as motivation rather than a finish line, with more ambitious campaigns likely to follow as it works to maintain its standing among Nigeria's top communications consultancies.

As Nigeria's communications industry continues to mature, competitions like this one are likely to keep playing a role in setting standards and giving clients a reference point for evaluating agencies. For now, Integrated Indigo can add another Agency of the Year title to its record, cementing its position as one of the country's most consistent players in the space.
