BIC Nigeria Wraps Up Back-to-School Campaign With Ikeja Experience Centre.

BIC Nigeria concluded its back-to-school campaign with a three-day Experience Centre at Ikeja City Mall in Lagos from August 28 to 30, bringing families together for games, creative activities and interactive experiences centred on creativity, learning and self-expression.

The activation formed part of BIC Nigeria's wider back-to-school strategy, which also included retail and media activity during one of the most commercially important periods for the stationery and school supplies category.

The Experience Centre gave children the opportunity to explore creative activities, play with their peers and express themselves through a combination of structured and freeform sessions connected to BIC's stationery portfolio.

For BIC Nigeria, the activation provided a physical brand presence during the back-to-school retail window, extending its interaction with families beyond conventional advertising and shelf visibility.

Creating a Physical Touchpoint Around Back-to-School

The back-to-school period brings together strong purchasing activity from parents and families preparing for the new academic year, making it an important period for stationery brands competing for attention and sales.

BIC Nigeria's decision to create an experience destination allowed the brand to participate in that moment through activities directly connected to creativity and learning. Rather than positioning the activation solely around products, the Experience Centre created an environment where the brand could be experienced through play and creative expression.

This gives the activation a role beyond entertainment. It connects BIC with the activities and behaviours surrounding the category at a time when families are already considering school supplies.

The approach also demonstrates how physical experiences can complement retail and media activity during seasonal campaigns. While retail provides product availability and media creates awareness, experiential activity gives consumers a direct opportunity to interact with the brand.

Experience as Part of the Marketing Mix

Physical activations remain relevant as brands look for ways to create deeper interactions with consumers in increasingly digital markets.

For BIC Nigeria, the Experience Centre provided an opportunity to bring its association with creativity and self-expression into a physical environment while maintaining visibility during a high-purchase-intent period.

The activation also reflects a broader approach to seasonal marketing, where brands increasingly combine media, retail and experiences rather than relying on a single communication channel.

For a category such as stationery, where creativity and learning are closely connected to the product, creating an experience around those behaviours gives the brand another way to participate in the back-to-school conversation.

BIC Nigeria's three-day Experience Centre therefore served as the physical culmination of its back-to-school activity, connecting its stationery portfolio with creativity, family engagement and the return-to-school period.
